	Sep 03	NSW2010 - The Lancaster Bomber Planning is well underway for NSW2010 - nicknamed 'The Lancaster Bomber' after the WWII bomber, and also after a fine local beer. NSW2010 will be hosted at the university campus of St. Martins, in Lancaster, on the weekend of 3-5 September 2010. 	Sep 15	9 Ball Pool / Darts It is anticipated that this Area event again will be played in pairs. However I will endeavour to ensure everyone can play both competitions if they wish. Topics to include: awareness and avoidance, understanding the law on assaults and offensive weapons, plus: simple, yet effective self-defence techniques, escape techniques, defending against attacks from front or rear, and defending against strangles and chokes. 	Aug 24	Area 5 Bowls Teams of 2 (can enter as many teams as you like). All players to wear flat soled shoes (no heels – sports shoes ideal). Bowls and food will be provided. Camara pub has a choice of 7 different real ales. Cost TBC (assure you it will not be expensive – depends on numbers and buffet choice). Points on offer for attendance and final standings. Please confirm attendance to Chris Kendall ( christopher.kendall@2plan.com ) before the 3rd august to allow confirmation on numbers and prices on food. Starts 6:30pm.

	Jul 07	Countryside Challenge & BBQ Wednesday 7th July 2010 start 7.00pm. Escape to the picturesque Worcestershire countryside and get to play on agriculture machinery. This Year we will have the amazing land-speed record-breaking lawnmower for you all to try. Capable of 88mph on sand!! Suggested teams of 4 - as many teams per table as you want. There will also be Mixed-Table teams, so if any of you fancy the challenge, but your fellow Tablers are too scared to go where there are NO street lights, then book in and we will get you into a team. Many prizes - Not just for the Winning Team. £10.00 per person entry fee. To include a typical Tenbury ‘eat-as-much-as-you-want’ BBQ. Please book in early to avoid disappointment. 	Jul 05	Power Blaster Night Tenpin bowling is the plan, meet at 7.30pm for 2 games of tenpin and then curry afterwards. (Power Station tour postponed due to some urgent construction repairs. Proposed new date is to be confirmed by Grant, it will be late summer.)
	Jun 29	Area 5 Golf The first of many Area events kicks off! Tee times start from 6.30. Last tee of 7.30 Cost is £15 a head including food afterwards! It is not a difficult golf course and only a 30 min drive to the outskirt of Wolves! Teams for the golf is in pairs. We can enter as many teams (pairs) as they wish. The more the merrier! Best team-score counts from each table.
	Jun 27	Dragon Boat Racing The event is on Sunday 27th June and is run by the Severn Hospice. It involves a team of up to 20 racing a Dragon Boat down the Severn for charity wearing fancy dress. Organiser: Matt.
	Jun 22	Bridgnorth Treasure Hunt Tickets are £15 each which includes entry to the hunt, maps and clues. Fish & Chip supper will be provided, and the traditional entertainment that is known and loved to finish off the night. This year's Hunt has a World Cup theme. 	May 24	Caterpillar Factory Tour If we can be there for 7.00pm and our tour guide will show us around for approx an hour and a half. Afterwards we can go for a curry and a couple of beers. Apologies by Friday the 21st May. Directions: On Whitchurch Road next to Morrisons (on the former Rolls Royce factory site). Meet at the main entrance at the back on Lancaster Road, head for Mount Pleasant, take a right at roundabout opposite Radio Shropshire and take the right into Caterpillar which will be sign posted.
	May 10	Quadbiking Good evening, and I welcome you all to a 'new' Shrewsbury Round Table Year. To kick it off we have a night of quad biking at the Builthy Farm, Middletown, Welshpool, SY21 8ER. This is the same place as we do the Archery which many of you know. Can we be there for 7.00pm prompt, where we will have at least one good hour on the quad bikes and finish off with a BBQ. The cost of the night is £30.00 for the quad biking and £6.50 for the BBQ afterwards. Could I have all apologies by the Friday 7th May 2010.
